Writing blog for all subjects in iBusiness programme to relate them and use one subject to facilitate others

Since the very first days, Professor Allen has encouraged us to write blog. “Write it as a personal study log”, he reasoned. However, I did not see much of the value of writing blog at that time.

As Steve Jobs once coined: “You can't connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards”, only now I understand the value of all my posts. Writing post, firstly, give me chance to reflex on the material that I read. This is quite straight. But the value of writing blogs lies on the ability to relate different posts, probably in the same subjects, or even in other subjects.

Reading through my blog, you can see in one post different points of view taken from many readings. The later the post is, there more critique and reflexive it is, and the more number of materials it contains. It all thanks to reflection on the old posts.

In greater scale, and maybe of greater importance, thank to the habit, I am able to use knowledge from one subject in iBusiness programme to facilitate other ones.

Here is how I did it:

Use research skills from Skills for business inquiry to facilitate the research term paper of MSD.
As I write critique of papers from the former subject, I learnt lot research skills such as conducting literature review, choosing research method etc. Putting them in the same place with MSD’s post reminds me to apply these theories to my favorite MSD. Furthermore, I also applied skills to critique papers in the former subject to critique points and propositions of authors in MSD’s papers.
·         Apply MSD’s product manager view towards high tech product on ICT’s materials
I wrote some latest technologies mentioned in ICT infrastructure for innovation in the blog. With other posts of MSD on-hand which regards different perspective of systems development, I am able to assess one technology, foresee the organization structure based on its interface and design.

I want to end this post by a special thanks to who create this programme. Including these three modules together indeed give me holistic combination of skills and knowledge. Special thanks to Professor Allen for encouraging me to write blog; this habit has definitely helped be develope deep composite understand of the three subjects.
